The Foresters’ Forest project
The Foresters’ Forest Programme was a National Lottery Heritage Fund Landscape Partnership programme, formed from an association of partner organisations and local community groups within the Forest of Dean. It ran from 2016-22 with the aim to raise awareness and participation in the built, natural and cultural heritage that makes the Forest special.
The Programme was based around five themes:
- Our Stronghold for Nature
- Exploring our Forest
- Revealing our Past
- Celebrating our Forest
- Securing our Future
Each of these themes had a range of projects that uncovered, shared and celebrated the heritage of Forest of Dean. In total there were 38 projects and this website highlights the key results of the Buried Heritage project – part of the projects Revealing our past theme.
Links to information about some of the other projects is available on the links page.
